Vendors and City Governments
We Have Opinions On
VENDORS
- NECX - This
vendor accepts orders online, claiming to
have over a hundred units in stock, and then neglects to inform you for
over a month that they ran out of stock before filling your order. By the
time they respond to your e-mails, the product you wanted to buy is all
gone. Their response: "Bummer." DON'T EVER ORDER FROM NECX! On the plus
side, they never charged my credit card, either.
- ComputAbility -
This vendor takes orders online, claiming to have units in stock,
and never tells you that your order was actually backordered and they
won't be able to get any more of them. While they have wasted your time
for a week with their lies and blatant fraud, every other online vendor
runs out of the product. You are left with nothing, in shame and
disgrace. DON'T EVER ORDER FROM COMPUTABILITY! On the plus side, they
never charged my credit card either.
- BuyComp - This
vendor is the all-time evil vendor. If life were Star Wars, BuyComp would
be the Emperor. Or maybe not. They're so incompetent, they'd probably be
a bumbling storm trooper. They take orders for products, claiming to have
them in stock, AND CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD RIGHT THEN, and never deliver
the product, even if you order it with second-day shipping. They respond
to customer service requests quickly, but their response to questions is:
"That product is backordered. It'll be in in 6-8 weeks, maybe. Why are
you so upset? It's not like we charged your credit card or anything. Oh,
wait, we did. Ha ha ha!" Bottom line: if you ever order from BuyComp,
your life will turn into a Dilbert cartoon. And I'll laugh.
As you can tell, the common thread linking the above vendors is that they
are all owned and staffed by idiots. ... no, wait, that wasn't it,
although it's true anyway. The real problem is that they lie. Their web
sites say they have items in stock when in fact they don't. Here's a tip,
people: if you have five items in stock, don't let your web site take
orders from five hundred people. And if you do, make sure the last four
hundred and ninety-five know that they won't be getting it right away.
Maybe when people ask for rush shipping, you should tell them "Sure, we
can rush the shipping, when the item comes in, six or eight weeks from
now." Sooner or later you're going to leave a lot of people in the lurch
when the boss wants to know where the product is, and they say "I ordered
it overnight three days ago." In conclusion, if you ever want to buy
online, don't use the above vendors. If you own stock in any of them,
sell it. If you work there, torture yourself with hot coals RIGHT NOW,
and then quit. Punch out your boss on the way out. Essentially, it would
not bother Palmtop Information Central one little bit if the above vendors
were wiped out by meteorite impacts.
CITIES
- Henderson, Nevada -
This city government sends this message: "We don't care about truth
or justice. All we want is your money, to support our massive government
bloat." We hope the city government of Henderson gets roasted by a
deliciously selective repeat of the Pepcon blast.
General Policy
Unless otherwise stated, Palmtop Information Central loves vendors and all
other people. If you don't find a vendor or a city government on this
page, you can safely assume that we love it. We embrace it tenderly.
Some vendors in particular we love, such as PC Connection and TechStore. Give these companies your
business.
